A lot has happened since my parents Kaushy and Mohan Patel converted a former launderette into the Prashad deli some 24 years ago.
From humble beginnings, Prashad has grown into an award winning restaurant, including the only two star AA Indian restaurant in Yorkshire and Finalists on Channel 4’s Ramsay’s Best Restaurant in 2010.
Although my parents no longer work at Prashad, their family values, traditional recipes and focus upon sourcing only the finest ingredients are still at the heart of everything we do. In fact Mum still oversees the roasting and grinding of our own special Garam Masala mix, containing 22 herbs and spices which we use in our kitchens.
We never rest on our laurels, but we’re delighted with our other awards: named in The Michelin Guide and The Good Food Guide, a Bib Gourmand in 2014, the Yorkshire Life Chef of the Year 2013, the Morrisons Magazine Great Grub Award 2013, the Oliver Awards Best Indian Restaurant 2014, and been awarded a Certificate of Excellence by TripAdvisor for the last 6 years in a row.
Our aim is to give you a unique culinary experience which consists of the highest quality, lovingly-made Gujarati and North Indian vegetarian food, served in an intimate and welcoming environment by knowledgeable, intuitive and friendly staff.

Using authentic North Indian vegetarian recipes, handed down from generations, along with new and creative ideas conjured up by our Head Chef, Minal, we combine the best of Gujarati and North Indian vegetarian food with seasonal and regional variations.
We always try to source ingredients locally wherever possible. This means that we cook with the freshest ingredients, support local growers and also reduce food miles.Prashad supports numerous organisations including Bradford Churches, Drighlington Juniors Cricket Club, Yorkshire Cancer Research, St George’s Crypt and Northern Ballet.
