
Prashad has been operating as a specialist Indian deli since 1986, during those early years our core products were developed for the Indian snack market and we specialise in Indian sweetmeats and a huge range on Bombay mixes. The company’s ethos was to never compromise on quality and to establish long relationships with customers. The company also does outdoor catering with menus developed for events of 1000+ people.
Kaushy the head chef at this family run concern, in 2004 was asked to enter a regional competition run by Yorkshire Forward, to her amazement she won the competition 3 yrs running. She was also invited to take part in a National competition which involved regional heats and a total of 4500 entrants, she won!
Prashad is a vegetarian restaurant that specialises in bring Yorkshire exact dished as you would enjoy in North India, South India and Punjab. The company is working on introducing Chinese fusion dishes. We work hard to keep the dishes authentic and real, anything ordered from the menu is widely available throughout India.
A mother of three and very well respected chef within her community is a national and regional triple award winning, loving and caring lady. Not extravagant but earthy and loving. She started her love affair of cooking back in India. As a little girl she lived with her grandma who was a large landowner and her day would involve cooking feasts for the farm staff. Each day she would be involved with cooking for 100+ people and so her skills started to flourish early. Her primary secret in cooking has to be your mental preparation, she will adamantly insist that to ensure dishes are of superior quality they should encapsulate good thoughts and wishes whilst cooking.
Wife of oldest son Bobby, Minal came to England in 2004 and got involved with the business straight away. Whilst in India she dreamt of running her own restaurant one day and is now living the dream Minal loves to cook and never tires from creating new dishes. She studied cooking in India and has continued to develop her skills. Currently studying part time Professional Cookery at Bradford College. She has aspirations to push her academic qualifications as high as possible with the aim to incorporate them into Prashad.
