Press release, 01/11/2011 - Finalists to Ramsay’s Best Restaurant, Prashad have welcomed the announcement of Bradford as the new holder of the title Curry Capital of Britain 2011.
The Bradford bid led by Bradford City council’s Patricia Tillotson with a particularly strong restaurant team of Aagrah, Prashad, Kiplings and Shimla Spice helped win the title they first won in 2004.
After becoming runners up in the title last year Bradford pulled out all the stops and scored highly in all sectors including fundraising for The Curry Tree. Bradford also illustrated deep understanding of the curry sector.
Bobby Patel, Operations Director at Prashad said: ”We are proud to be part of the winning team that brought the title of Curry Capital back to Bradford. It is absolutely fabulous news for all who were involved and a fantastic accolade for the city.
“Thanks to all who voted, the response was so huge that the voting website crashed, it really shows how much the people of Bradford are willing to get behind their city.”
