Prashadam, loosely translated as 'give back', has been at the heart of Prashad since Kaushy and Mohan Patel first started Prashad over 24 years ago in Bradford.
They believed that working with the community, and helping others less fortunate was as important as serving customers.
Although Kaushy and Mohan have since retired, Bobby and Minal Patel continue this tradition to this day.
Whether we are preparing food for local churches, cooking for a homeless charity, or supporting the local cricket club... Prashadam is at our heart.
In 2015, we decided to develop our concept a little further, and share our CSR approach with other companies, and see what we can learn from one another.
Throughout 2016, every month at Prashad we will be running special charity evenings, with all profits going directly to the charity. Previous events have raised between £600 and £1,000 per evening.
Beyond this, Prashadam will also see us working in partnership with Yorkshire Cancer Research, helping to raise awareness of cancer in British Asian populations and also in deprived areas of Bradford that affect us all.
Prashad will also be working with Northern Ballet, helping to raise awareness of healthy eating and also the opportunities that ballet can bring to communities within Bradford.
