Something so tasty you won’t miss the meat this national vegetarian week!
Wednesday, 14th May, 2014
We obviously love to celebrate vegetarian cuisine and what we love most of all is surprising those who think it’s bland and boring by feeding them something so tasty and satisfying that they don’t miss the meat. Next week (19-25 May) is National Vegetarian Week and the Vegetarian Society is once again challenging carnivores to go meat free for a week.
Here at Prashad, we let our food speak for itself and consistently win awards (most recently Best Indian Restaurant at the Oliver Awards and Chef of the Year at the Yorkshire Life Food & Drink Awards) which demonstrate that being meat free doesn’t hold us back when it comes to culinary excellence.
This year, we wanted to make our National Vegetarian Week deal as enticing as possible so we’re offering a free portion of our signature street food dish Special Chaat with every Tasting Platter ordered. Special Chaat is a chickpea, potato and samosa salad with a rich tamarind sauce that is served cold in layers and topped with fresh yogurt and coriander. The Tasting Platter is a great way to sample a range of veggie Gujarati dishes for the first time, so it’s the perfect place to start if you’re new to vegetarian food.
Fancy making some delicious and nutritious Indian food at home? Click here to take a look at our range of gifts, including cook books – and make sure you let us know how it goes! We love seeing Kaushy and Minal’s creations in your homes, so tweet your photos and videos to @Prashad_veggie or post them on our Facebook page!
Not convinced that vegetarian food can be simple, spontaneous, and delicious? Join Kaushy and Michelin Star chef Stephanie Moon on 6th June at 6pm for an interactive cooking demonstration in Millennium Square, Leeds. As part of the Leeds Food and Drink Festival’s Yorkshire Food and Drink Show they will bring a variety of ingredients and it will be up to the audience which of them are used. We can’t wait to taste the delicious meal that Kaushy is sure to create – hopefully we’ll get to share it with lots of you!
