If you know someone who loves whipping up a feast in the kitchen, our two Prashad cookbooks are packed with glorious, authentic Gujarati recipes, that have been handed down through our family. They’re both great cheat sheets for improving your vegetarian cooking, and every copy is hand signed by mum.

The first book, Indian Vegetarian Cooking, takes you through 100 recipes featuring everything from simple snacks, to dinner party show-stoppers. It was featured in The Times’ Top 40 cookbooks of the year. The second book, Prashad at Home, shares the delicious, everyday cooking that we grew up on. The books are available individually, or to buy as a pair. And the best thing about buying someone one (or two) of our books? They’ll probably end up cooking our recipes for you! For the wannabe Masterchefs: Cooking Demo Day

Go behind the scenes at Prashad and join us in the kitchen for a day of authentic Indian cooking. Minal and her sous chef Sukumar teach you to cook up a storm, while we share the story of Prashad, chat all about our heritage, and share the secrets to cooking great Indian food at home.

We like to make this day really special, so we limit classes to just 8 people. Guests will get stuck into making some of our favourite dishes on the menu, before sitting down together to enjoy a feast that we’ve created together. Guests will also take away their choice of Prashad cookbook, to help recreate the dishes at home.

For those that wants to spice things up: House Blend Garam Masala

There’s nothing worse than spending ages cooking up a dish than for the final thing to taste a bit… flat. But we’ve got just the thing for those wanting to really bring the flavour to their cooking. Our house blend Garam Masala is a top secret, family recipe mix of 18 different spices, slowly roasted over a low heat for seven days right here at the restaurant, before we send it off to our friends at Mexborough Mill in Leicester to grind and package it up for us.

We use it in so many of our dishes at Prashad, and it’ll really add depth to your Indian cooking. It’s also available as a bundle, along with our cookbooks. TOP TIP: Minal says to store the pouch in the freezer once opened, to keep that bold flavour fresh.

For the ones who leave the cooking to anyone else: Restaurant voucher

You can’t exactly wrap up our Dosas or Chaat to go under the tree, which is exactly why we created our Prashad vouchers. For the ones with something to celebrate: Tasting menu & wine voucher

Treat a special couple to our seven course tasting menu for two, with a glass of wine each to enjoy. The menu is a journey through Gujarati flavours and family recipes, with Minal’s fine-dining spin. It features Prashad favourites, like our Masala Dosa, Kofta, and Chowpatti Bhel, with seasonal twists making it a unique experience each time. A vegan version of the tasting menu is also available to order.
